A friend of a friend is selling one tht only needs a new engine. Is this a good deal??

thats a good deal if everything else excellent.....then call mike at ips and buy one of his BRAND NEW jdm R motors thats coming in

 

hell yeah thats a good deal. you can get another engine for no more that 5K (maybe more, dont know exactly how much they run)

if you do this make sure you buy a jdm itr motor form a respected dealer (i.e. ipsracing) not some punk with a stolen type R motor.

No, it's not for sale in OH.
Hmmm, I have always wanted a Type R. I missed my chance in 98. I think it is actually a good idea to get one that needs a new motor. Most people beat them up anyways.
This other motor that you mentioned. Where can I get it from and for how much??

if this R u are getting still has the bad motor in it, i might want some parts.

 

Look at it this way; if everything else on that car is good and the title is clean, you could have an '01 ITR with a 200+ whp motor (easy) for less than the price of a nice, stock 01 ITR.

I'd go for it.
