someone mentioned that early manifolds were just redrilled b16 IMs to fit gsr
and later models were manufactured with proper runner angle for gsr head.

skunk2 original was same
skunk2 pro series is proper intake angle for gsr

can anyone confirm for other brands?

theres blox v3 and theres really no information on manufacturers pages that specifies anything about runner angle

i checked every manufactures page and theres no reference to runner angle

and pictures look same

 

because they are. you really think all these companies independently produce these parts? they buy from the same factories overseas and slap their own label and markup on them. do you know what it costs them to buy vs. what they sell them for?

 

didnt someone here on HT said that skunk2 pro version has different runner angle? or was he just spreading misinformation then?

a quick google search will tell you where companies like skunk2 or blox gets their manifolds. 9 times out of 10 it's from the same factory.

all this time i kept asking and everyone said they are different runner angle. i almost bought the gsr manifold

now i have portmatched and redrilled b16 skunk2 pro. i would be buying same thing i have then WTF.
what about edelbrock and AEBS?
AEBS was made before cina times is it possible that it has proper angle?

 

Conspiracy theories aside, in modern times I believe most IMs marketed as fitting GS-Rs are now manufactured with the correct runner angle. I think if you bought an Edelbrock or Skunk2 you'd be safe. Blox copied Skunk2's old, incorrect design so who knows.

 

im gonna email the manufacturers and post results here
i was hoping for the manufacturers to respond here in this thread but that didnt work out.

so ill post back with results from what they say. hopefully some pictures too.

 

got a hold of AEBS and since they dont make them anymore he couldnt say if it is different or not. but still great customer support it is and has been made by professional products so im gonna contact them.
BLOX racing also has live people and i emailed them waiting for responce with pictures thumbs up. rep said they are proper angle so will see on the pictures hopefully.

edelbrock is antisocial - phone is no longer in service and they dont provide email for customer support kinda lame.

SKUNK2 sent email contacted through facebook blew up their phone line and still no responce so i donno.

 

unless one of you guys have those manifolds laying around for both gsr and b16

 

i still dont understand why this is such a big issue. are you trying to make every last bit of hp with big money on the line? or are you just building a simple street car?

 

The runner angles are pretty different. I wouldn't want a manifold that was incorrect.

 

If they are just redrilled then no point of spending money buying a gsr im.
I have a redrilled skunk2 already
And yes i do want every last bit of power even if its for my daily.
It all adds up in the end
