Hello,
My 1998 Honda Civic was recently vandalized and I am giving it to my son who plans to fix it up. Aside from the drivers side door which needs to be replaced, all is good with the car except a few minor cosmetic issues. With a new door in place, I am convinced this car will last another 10 worry-free years. The door cannot open so I can't access the hinges. How can I remove it without damaging the body so that a new door assembly can just be bolted on? The entire inside panel is damaged and will need to be replaced, so it does not matter if I break it further.

What's preventing the door from opening?

Pulling a door is easy, but it needs to open.

 

just ripe off/cut off the door panel to get inside the door to be able to pull the lever and open the door!

 

I removed (read: destoyed) the door panel. That was the fun and easy part at which I am pretty skilled. Both the lock lever and the inside and outside door lever move freely like they should, and I also tried to unlock the door with the key to no avail, the door remains locked. I love the pry bar, but I am hoping it is not my only next step to get this door to open.

Thanks for the link. I think the situation described therein might solve the problem, although this will obviously involve more thinking than the pry bar.
