Default my CR-V =)

Sup HT! lol Been a while since I've been in here! lol Anyways I just picked up a "New" '01 cr-v SE 4wd auto! It's my DD so nothing crazy on it

Anyways first thing first is I like to put a new exhaust system on it. What is everyone running and where and how much is your exhaust systems? I'm probably not looking to spend more than $300 on a system. Maybe a nice header as well? just to replace the old somewhat rusted oem one? Looking for close to stock/quiet sound exhaust but open to a little more aggressiveness than stock sound is fine just nothing LOUD and RICEY! NO FART CANS! It's my DD just want it simple and clean got a project in the makings for all that other stuff

TIA for any help and suggestions

P.S. Also I like to get some shocks for it as well, no lift kit no off-road here or lowering kit stance just want to upgrade the oem shocks and springs any suggestions as well? Again just want simple and clean

Here's the beauty!

I did a full custom exhaust on mine because there arent really any companys that make them for the V. Theres one guy on here that recently got one that was premade but i dont remember who it was from. OBX used to make a header for the AWD V, but its discontinued. If you can find one, thats the way to go. A regular B series header wont work because the transfer case is in the way. Youd have to get it modified to work.

As for shocks, i liked my KYB's. If you look at your front springs, their probably broken right at the top. If you dont want to lift/lower it, just get some stock replacement springs from whoever.

LOL! FAILED! meant to put "silver" wrote "sliver" couldn't log in! LOL ***is there a way to edit my screen name??LOL

Anyways I guess if I got no choice than yeah that's what I plan to do custom exhaust with a nice muffler on it. But I've been looking on the threads and seen a few nice V with exhaust, can't all be custom is it? hummmm..that sucks for the header

what would happen if I did buy the 2wd header and had someone bent the end of it? Will that work or gotta cut/re-weld it =P or will it crack, break lol just because the OEM stuff are good I guess but expensive ***freaks which some parts I don't mind to pay but some I prefer aftermarket like headers and exhaust for sure. EVEN a STOCK CAT is TOO MUCH! Rather prefer a good aftermarket to replace the rusty one, which I hope don't fall out soon! Suspension yeah still got my stock ones but thought I trade it for something more smoother, stock is kinda a little harsh for me lol only good on flat pot hole free roads

OH and yeah saw few/some pictures of the CRV "fullmark" back! I WANT IT! How can I get a "fullmark" bumper and tailgate? I'll pay to play but with a limit If someone can help me out here PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW!

BTW "LDForget" see you got 6000K HIDs any photos? Like to get some for myself oh and you wouldn't know where or how some peeps have the JDM amber looking housing headlights, where they get it from or ? j/w

photo's of what? its 6000k hids....looks the same as any other vehicle with hid's. much better light output. i have some projectors im going to retrofit into them though. the amber housings are actually just yellow tint thats put over the headlight. jdm headlights are the same as usdm/cdm. some euro (edm) headlights are blackhoused.

^^thanks

?? I guess but then I haven't seen a V with HIDs so just want to see output of 6000K I think if I remember correct my old CRX was 9000k? or 10? don't remember.

Definitely on output lol That I remember so I supose either way it'll still be better than OEM bulbs..but as far as headlights..yeah? Really? Well some peeps did a HELL of a job than sure looks purrrrety sweet!

you have any upper strut bar? which brand and how does it feel? do any good with it? I'd like to get one too saw the neuspeed but too late into the V game lol so have to look for something else that's still in production

the K rating of HIDs is the colour, not the amount of light output. Its actually the reverse, the lower the K, the better the light output, to a point. 4300K is almost a pure white, with a yellowish tinge. 3000k is yellow, 6000k is white with blue, 8000k is blue blue, 10000k is purple, ect. Its pretty difficult to get a picture of how good the light output is with any normal camera or a phone. perhaps ill try tomorrow after work.

yeah i really like the prelude seats. I might change them up for some RSX leathers if i can find a good deal on them. my drivers heated seat doesnt work (never did since i got it) but the passenger side one does.

^idk (LDForget) would have to shine in on that...I haven't even took anything apart from the V yet other than the oem clock to fix (pretty much just picked it up last week still waiting for title to plate it! LOL) Wish I would've picked it up waaay sooner (instead of spending my money on 5+ cars! not keeping them too long ) like I said missing out on sooo many good parts for the V

^easy fix bro...ever dealt with main relay problems? same thing pretty much. Bad solder connection/cracks...

carefully pop out the whole vent/clock unscrew the clock, take it apart and look at your solder points/connection and the little sensors you'll see like the little 300 box etc. if solder connection is crack (hard to see cuz it's so small) just solder/add solder to the crack...plug it back in and it's alive again! lol easy fix good luck lmk if you need help

no upper strut bar yet. 97-98 crv's have a tall intake manifold thats in the way. idk about the shorter intake manifold of 99-01 crv's. integra manifolds would allow it.

i used my stock rails on my prelude seats. most of the bolts lined up. needed a couple longer bolts with some spacers to get some to fit.

....SSSSSSoooo next thing to the exhaust is RIMS and I'm already starting to just shop around looking for wheels and want something not so heavy and so expensive so I'm looking at the "Rota grid 2" new version of "grid"? supose to be 18-20lbs each...WAS thinking about 16s (16x8?)but thought it might be small/similar to the oem 15 size so thinking WTHeck and am going with 17s

Well anyways planning on a set of the Rota Grid in 17x8 +35 hub size 73 (5x114.3 of course) and that would be all around (4rims)...Anyone know if that'll be a problem for the CRV or no? how would my speed/mileage compare to the OEM size? TIA
