mpfi not working :(
we tried everything in last 24 hours to make my mpfi work and we got nothing.. ive got both the dx and si wiring harness for the engine.. and i went and bought a "body or ecu" wiring harness from an si also we always seem to have left over wires ARGH it cranks but it wont start.. bleh whats those one sites again that help? i need one with pictures so i can print it and show it to my friends.
dangit somebody posted it on here.. but i lost the link
grrrrrrrrr it was a one page site with info and pics it showed all the wiring i need and everything

no no it was a site that showed which plugs should be left over and the resistor box and some wierd ****
as for the dx interior part i put my old one back and my old dx harness back too now i gotta figure out whats wrong.. btw if i got a mpfi from an hf (i think the junkyard fucked me over) will it still work? a guy here did a mpfi swap with a dx distributor but i think he got dif plugs or someshit i dunno what he said.. unless whatever he bought came with the si dizzy.. how much do si dizzy's normally go fo and shouldnt it come with my intakemanifold and injectors and stuff?
i hope if i got the hf mpfi it will still work..

i just finished my mpfi swap yesterday, it didnt take too long, had a lot of problems with the wiring , i was throwing code 16 , so i rewired all my injectors straight to the ecu, you also might want to double check your diz wiring , it can get screwed up pretty easy, i took the si dis plug of and switched 1 wire at a time to the same color wire on the dx plug. the car runs great. .... i know someone with a whole si swap, trans, ecu, intake mani, tb, all sensors, everything you need if you got the hf stuff.
well my **** says pgmfi or whatever on it just like the si.. so i would think it would work the same if i had the si ecu since it has 4 injectors or whatever .. nobody wants to help me on the phone or maybe on aim? so i can explain each problem while i come across them lol this is getting very annoying and im disliking every second of it
my aim is joshwhe, talk to me if you want. the hf and si both say pgmfi or what ever, the hf intake runners are super small and if you put them on your gonna lose power instead of making power, the hf makes like 62 hp dx like 80 and si around 100, you should have gotten a diz when you bought all the stuff, the mpfi diz needs a crank pos sensor thats how the mpfi works, sequential ingnition **** , anyways you need the si diz cuz it has two wires that go to the ecu to make it work.......
You need an si or hf distributor, it will start with the dx dizzy but run real crappy and it won't rev past about 3k. And yes the hf mani works, but has less flow than the si one so you woun't get the power that the si intake offers.
Do you have:
si or hf ecu?
si or hf injector resistor box?
si or hf dizzy?
If you want to haul the car down to Oregon, I'll help you out. It's been a while since I did mine, so I'm not sure if I can guide you through sight unseen over the phone.
You sound pretty rushed. I have said this about 50 times on this site, but I'll say it again. A novice needs plan to have his car down for at least a week to work the bugs out while performing this swap. There's always parts forgotten or parts broken.
The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is the electronic sensor that's mounted on your throttle body, and the Engine Air Control Valve (EACV) is on the backside of the intake manifold (#10 in the photo below)
Speaking of this photo, the webside I stole it from ( http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...KA5MT&catcgry5= ) has a lot of good drawings like this that I find very helpful in identifying parts. Nothing there to help your wiring woes though. I followed the Hybrid's site mentioned above and had no problems whatsoever with my wiring, the SCC article I accually found more confusing than anything.

I live about 1 hour south of Portland on I-5 and I work a split week, so I never get 2 days off in a row (I'm off Wednesdays and Sundays) I Can do the swap for you easy enough, but I don't think I could drive up there, do the wiring, and drive home in one day. Also, I'm not sure if I can trust my hatch to make that kind of trip right now, It has this little problem of dumping oil on the clutch at high rpms (which is any time on the freeway with a 4-speed) I wouldn't need any money from you, I'd just do it to help out a fellow H-T member. But If you have the car torn apart, You'll need to figure a way to trailer it down here. Being a trial member, you're probably about to hit your daily limit of posts. feel free to email me, or if you have MSN messenger I'm on there: thumpu77@hotmail.com
my big problem with my mpfi swap when i did it on the zc swap, was when i added the one wire at the ecu, i never took that white thing out to put the wire in, i just pushed it in, lol. But after that it was fine. It started though just ran shitty.
how do i become a real member -_- lol and um so theres no way u could come up here to do it?
