Icon2 vehicle speed/shifter question?

how fast can you go in your civic when you have the clutch pushed in and be able to put the shifter into first?

theres so many times im coming to a stop and then have to take off before stoping and im going way to slow for 2nd (1k-2k rpm in 2nd) but the shifter wont go into first gear even with the clutch in it only goes in when the car hits like 5mph and like 1k-1,500 rpm

is this normal? i figured since the clutch was pushed it i should be able to get it in earlyer than that.

Seems like you should be able going that slow might be your throw out bearing
Don't try to force it you'll just end up causing problems for you

i never forced it but i just though by the time you where slow enough to use first it would go in, not have to wait till like 1k-1500 rmp / 5mph'ish and puting it into 2nd at that rpm is like driving a snail.

Some vehicles are like that.
Double clutching may be required to get the trans into first while moving, others may require a delay of ~3 seconds before attempting to shift into 1st.

Being this is the Accord forum I have no idea what idiosyncrasies the Civic transmission may have.

My Civic does that too. I usually double clutch and it goes right in.
