Default 00 Sedan Trunk Latch

So I need a new trunk latch, and I'm also currently amassing parts for an alarm install. I had this idea, and I'm hoping someone in here may know the answer.

Some of the later models of our cars have power trunk pops. I'm curious if anyone has ever found one of the power latches that will drop in. I know I can use an aftermarket popper, but I really like the idea of having it more integrated, especially since I would have to buy half as much stuff. Has anyone done anything like this by any chance?

Sorry for the crappy pic, sun was right there and I had to use the front camera so I could see what I was doing.

Hi spAdam,

I have a 2000LX but it doesn't have the automatic trunk release. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Please let's us know if it works

See this post from yesterday, which got no responses:

I am trying to do the same thing, with no luck so far. Will be assessing a s2000 latch tomorrow per my buddy meeting me.

Nope. It was not an option.

Nice, you've already done some homework. I'll join your thread.

Mods, please lock this. I'll move my post to the above to avoid clutter.
