Aux Fan/ Cooling Fan issues
OK.... I have yet to find a correct answer as to why this is happening... I have a 1991 Integra LS/SP.... The Aux Fan is running constantly. The Cooling Fan not running at all. I have replaced the ECT, Thermostat, The two prong switch by the oil filter, the oil Temp switch, and both the Cooling fan relay and the condenser Fan Relay.
HELP!!!!! what am I missing that this wont work?
I have power everywhere that power is supposed to be. The only thing I found weird is when the car is up to temp... the yellow green from the cooling fan relay loses power. up to that point I have power there.
Someone please help... I'm tired of chasing this problem!!!!!!
Thank you in advance!!!!

Does the fan run when the key is turned to the On position? Without turning the engine on? It's obviously getting power when it's not supposed to. Either a switch is internally shorted allowing current to flow or it's robbing power from another source. Have you done any drilling or splicing or anything like that???
The left side fan is the radiator fan, the right side fan is the condenser fan and was dealer installed with the AC. Do you have power to the fan that is inoperative ? The fan motor may have failed. The fans operate when the AC compressor is engaged, the engine temp is at or above a certain level, I don't remember if the oil temp will turn on the fans. First gen Legends that had bad oil temp switches would cause the fans to run continuously. An ETM will be your best help.
There should be a temp switch on the bottom of the radiator, this is different than the ECT. If your AC pressures are too high, that can make the fans run continuously, and possibly fail. With the fan running continuously, the engine will take longer then it should to warm up, or may not reach full operating temp at all. This will affect your fuel mileage as well.
The car does not have a/c... It was removed before I bought the car. The fan is running all the time. Key off, key on, and car running. I do have power in all the places that I need to have power... The fan on the right(pass side) has power but does not engage when car is running or up to temp. I noticed that I have power at the cooling fan relay in two sports, the black/yellow wire which is b+, and also at the yellow/green wire. When the car is up to temp I lose the power at the yellow/green wire. Which that wire is coming from the ect. The ect is good. What is an etm?
ETM= electrical trouble shooting manual. The factory manual will give you clear wiring diagrams, and explain How the system works. I think you have two separate issues. With power to right side condenser fan, and the fan not working, the fan motor is probably bad. That's the easy problem. When did the fans run continuously problem start? It could be a bad fan timer, I remember there were some issues with these. Hopefully you can borrow a timer to see if that fixes it. If you can let me know what you find, I would appreciate it.
I do have a helms book. I've been trying to figure it all out. If I put direct power to the left side fan it works great. The fan running constantly just started the other day. Before that it would come on and go off when it felt like it. I'm just so sick of chasing this problem. I wish I knew what else to look at! Lol but I think I may have either a relay issue or a timer issue. I do have another timer that I can install and try. We'll see what happens.
