Default What is the best color for EF Si? Black or Red

Well I've been looking at a lot of EF Si pictures lately, but I can't really decide if I want black or red.

I already bought a black 91 Si, but I have now an opportunity to buy a red 91 Si.

I'm leaning a little bit on the red whenever I see pictures. Buying them both is not an option. No more space.

What do you guys think? I know it's a matter of personal preference, but I want to have a feel with the EF gurus here.

Anything else I need to consider? Like easier to clean, rarity, more parts, etc.

Thanks

the red ones are faster.

other than that there is nothing technical about color.

That depends on what stickers it has on it. Black adds to sticker hp.

I had a 1990 black si and I have a 1991 red si, black gets dirty quick but red gets
more attention. I like both atleast it's not teal.

Yeah I know what you mean. I also have a Mercedes 190E 16V Cosworth All black and it's a pain to keep clean and dust free.

Maybe it's also one of the reason I'm having second thought with the black EF Si, since I already have a blacked out Merc.

I have to put car cover while inside the garage for the Merc to stay clean.

mine is black and i love it, but am tempted to go with the stock light blue when i get the body cleaned up and repainted. i saw a pic of one today that was light blue with black trim and white wheels. interesting combination.

16 VALVE!!!!!!!!!!! SO PRETTY!!! PLEASE POST MORE PICTURES

I used to have a 2.6 back in 2006 and I miss that car! They definitely dont make them like that anymore. I go on 190rev.net from time to time to reminisce.

All I did to it was OE 16V spoiler, C230 wheels, Euro head lights+clear corners, and tint.

Well for 90-91 they came in 4 colors. Red, White, Green, and Black. The black is the only "SI" specific color in the USA

My personal favorite is the 1989 Si Polar White pearl which is more of an off white than the 90-91 Frost White which looks more like tooth paste white. The red looks good but most cars with original paint turn pink. The green is an acquired taste for many can can be very clean. Black loos good but is hard to find a clean one plus Black shows all flaws

Black looks so nice, but requires so much extra work if you like to keep it clean..

Haha I'm glad that you also like W201 chasis.

Well I originally got this Mercedes 190E 16V about 6 years ago. Man I can't believe it's that long already.

Well here's some pictures of when I first got Stanley with a "Sir-Mix-A-Lot" Brabus 3 spoke wheels.

And then I replaced the wheels with Borbet Type C.

Paint still shines like new to this day. Always wax, covered in garage. Pampered.

Only thing that broke during my 6 yrs of ownership was water pump and slave cylinder. Other than that..just regular maintenance.

Specs:
1987 Mercedes 190E 16V - 1 out of 700 in North America I think
Cosworth DOHC head
Getrag LSD dogleg tranny
Carbon Fiber interior
Recaro Black Leather
Eibach Springs
Hella Smoked Taillights
Bosch Euro headlights
Remus full catback exhaust
About 128k miles
Brabus Wheels

I got it for $2200 with all the above aftermarket upgrades... pretty good huh.

Hahahaha that's for sure! But to answer the OP, why would it matter what color it is? Aren't you just going to have the car painted anyways if you're building it?
