Ls vtec build question
Hey im new to the lsv build so I got a question. My setup is ls crank/rods with type r piston in a gsr block with stock head with super tech valve spring and retainers. Wanted to know if a fuel pressure regulator or injector upgrade is needed? Just lookin to get 200whp and I will add cams and cam gears etc later on
Thanks in advance

Has anyone have trouble with the ls crank hitting the oil squirters in a gsr block? I've read a lot and some peeps say it only hits the the oil squirters stem and bends them out the way. But mine hits the oil squirters bolt and the squirters stem
I know thers a plug kit but really wanted to use the oil squirters cause I don't have aftermarket pistons just oem type r pistons
Any suggestion????

Actually I was reading some threads last night and you might be safe reusing stock head bolts if you aren't planning on turbocharging or going really high compression.
No boost. My compression will b only bout 10.8-9 its goin b my daily driver. U think the compression will b fine on stock head bolts? Also wanted to add I found one valve stem a lil bent on my gsr, I got a ls head cylinder Layin around and was wondering if the valve stem from the ls head work on my gsr head?
Based on the threads I was reading the other day, you'd be fine. It turns out that a lot of the experienced all-motor guys reuse their head bolts. If they are torqued correctly they should not stretch.
That said I'd replace them if 1) they required lots of extra torque to remove, 2) they are difficult to thread back in.

I doubt it. I wouldn't skimp on the head. At least use GS-R valves. Did valves not come with the head? Also, why did you chose LS rods? Those are going to be your weakest link.

FYI- A LS-vtec build consist of using a non vtec block and installing a vtec head. Your build is not technically a LSVtec. I would consider it more of a stroked GSR since you have increased the displacement using a LS crank in a GSR block and head.

Oh and using ls rods cause of a more torque. How much power can the ls rods hold? I'm not lookin to drag race just something to make close to 200whp, a lil street racing but still b my daily driver. And I don't want to rev it past 8500rpm stayin below that or maybe right at it.
