Default crooked wheel question

Hi Guys,

Straight to the point.

Before the alignemt:
- car used to move toward the right with slightly croocked wheel.

After the alignment:
- the car is now moving straight but the steering wheel looks annoying because it is to much crooked toward the right

I wanna get back to the shop but i would like to know what caused this issue, so that he will not try to be smart and create fake things to charge me again?

and is it the tie rod that have to be adjusted to have the steering wheel straight?

Thanks

They didn't set the wheel straight the first time they aligned it

Yeah, the person who did your alignment halfassed the job. Bring it back and ask them to unfuck it. Short of a heavily bent steering system, there is ZERO reason for the steering wheel to not be straight after an alignment.

Short version: the tie rod ends weren't adjusted properly.

did you get a printout of the before and after alignment results?

if your car drives in a straight line, then try unbolting the steering wheel and turn it a few splines to the left.

I had this happen in the past. Now when i get in the car, theres so many turns, I didnt notice it till i was finally going down the street.
My wheel was in the 2:00 position..
I immediately turned around and waited for the assclown to do the alignment all over again.

This was at a major tire chain too.

then the guy says "the alignment changes when the driver will be in the car"..

So, I tell the guy... "wouldnt it be best to do the alignment with the driver in the vehicle to get the best alignment"
Guys says yes, but insurance wont let customers sit in the car when its on the rack.

Esoteric, good shops can do a "load alignment", by either A) weighting the car, or B) using fancy software to compensate for the weight. Usually doesn't cost any more, either. Just throwing it out there.

It's kind of hilarious that they tried to pawn that excuse off on you...that's one of the worst excuses an auto shop can give. Ask me how I know

Wow that's a shitty excuse..
I tried to get Firestone to let me sit in the car and they wouldn't let me...

Some shops can compensate for the weight, but Firestone isn't one from my experience.
