Default Flasher relay unit on 2002 Civic Exec

Hi
Hope someone can help me? I live in the UK; and, I have a problem with my flasher signals. Whenever I signal, left or right, I get a loud 'squawking' noise from somewhere around the steering wheel or dashboard.

All exterior bulbs are working okay; however, none of them will 'flash': they just remain on, constantly, and squawk! I think that this is the flasher relay unit; however, I don't know where to find the darned thing, much less remove it!

I need to know what this part physically looks like, so I can go out and buy a replacement. And, so I don't buy the wrong part, it would be helpful if someone tell me the location of the relay unit, and could post a picture of it. This will help me make the right choice when buying a new one.

Cheers

Macca

Hello to the other side of the pond, you are not saying what model of Civic you have, on the North American models it is a black three prong relay installed on the fusebox/multiplex box next to the steering column.

Hi Eviee
My car is a 2001 / 2 Honda Civic Executive, the owner's manual decribes it as a "Civic 5 Door". It has the standard 4 doors, and the rear lifts up making it a 5th door. I'm not a 'techie' so I don't know what more I can tell you about the model of my car.

What I'm really looking for is a diagram showing me where to look for the flasher relay, and some guidance on how I go about taking the old one out, and changing it for a new unit. I just need to take a look at the existing relay unit, so I know what to look for when I buying the new one. I appreciate your help.

Best regards
