Default Airbags deployed from mucked up SF streets!

Yeah it happened to me too! Anyway I finally got the car running again thanks to reading up on HT It was fuse #13 blown but I had already paid $250 for a tow because AAA driver wouldnt touch "modified Honda".

Now my question is... after I install new air bags do I need to have dealer reset the SRS module, buy used, or do nothing?

While stranded I also tried to locate the SRS module which I thought would be in the center console or under center dash floor area but I cant find the thing. I do know anything SRS related has yellow connectors. So where is it?

Thanks Dirty but thats for resetting the SRS flashing light which I dont have flashing right now.

From my understanding when air bags deploy the SRS module is either done and needs to be replaced or there is some sort of sensor inside that needs to be reset so that the new air bags function again. If the new bags will work fine without doing such a thing then im golden.

I dont have comprehensive or collision on this vehicle. Just the bare minimum liability. Its an old Civic.

Plus if I did I would probably carry an $1k deductible like my other vehicles and replacing the parts myself will be cheaper. Ive already sourced the drivers side air bag for nothing. Looking for passenger side which will soon surface.

Right... and what made matters worse was I have AAA and 100 mile tow coverage! Going from San Francisco to home was 35-40 miles and local AAA truck driver used my lowered Honda as a lame excuse to not tow the distance. I paid another tow company out of pocket and now have to go thru the trouble of reimbursement.

Anyway... someones gotta know if I need to have dealer reset SRS module, buy used, or not worry bout it. C'mon HT
