Default programming homelink

unable to program homelink on my 1999 accord. My garage door opener has a rolling code, tried activating the "learn" button on the main unit, and pressing one of the homelink buttons in the vehicle. no success. was able to program the hand held remote properly, but not the homelink buttom. Any suggestions? already cleared the homelink of all previous codes by depressing first & third button until red lite flashes (about 20-25 seconds)

Ok i worked in the garage door field for 6 years. Here's how it's done. Press the button on the transmitter (hand held remote) and the desired home link button simultaneously. Hold both until the home link light flashes fast (no longer than 30 second) then immediately release both buttons. Make sure the car is parked out of the garage away safely away from the door as it WILL move during this process. Then go to your operator and push the programming button once. DO NOT HOLD IT. Once tee light begins to flash quickly return to your car (within 30 seconds) and (if it is a genie operator) push the programmed button about five times slowly not holding it for more than a second at a time. If it's a liftmaster (with a red, green, or purple programming button) then push and hold the button for about two seconds and then release. the lights (if it has good bulbs) will flash and the unit will click twice. Push the button again to confirm programming.
