Default 95 civic h22a swap code 8 question

alright guys i got a bit of a problem. let me give you as much info as possible. i have a 95 civic cx hatch with a jdm 93 h22a swapped into it with a f22 5 speed tranny. its all obd1. ok so a few weeks back the bolt that holds the distributor rotor on came unscrewed and blew up the distributor. upon taking it apart i learned that it only destroyed the rotor and cap. so i replaced those and it ran just like it did before. now when i was inspecting the distibutor a couple days ago just to make sure that screw wasnt going anywhere i noticed oil inside the dizzy. which had to be from the screw comming out. so i took the distributor apart and replaced the inner seal and when i went to fire it up i got a cel code 8 which is the tdc sensor located in the dizzy. so my question is how do i fix this? or how can i check to make sure the sensor has continuity. oh and i also tore apart my entire intake manifold yesterday to fix a vaccum leak i had between the head and the manifold. now after i tryed to fix stuff im getting a code 8 and my vtec isnt working either? could this be related to the tdc sensor? because i didnt mess with the solinoid or anything. and i have a one wire vtec mod and it worked great before i did these two thing. sorry for the long post just dont know what to do. any help is much appreciated.
