Default 03 type S, intake manifold question [without Kpro], also o2 CEL

Hi guys, here's my info

03 Type S all stock except:
-Mugen airbox (for sale)
-typeR PRC intake manifold
-Hondata intake manifold gasket
-DC race header
-Type R cat-back

I think I'm pretty happy without Kpro. I daily drive. and like a good balance of performance / gas mileage so I'm pretty content.

However, I'd like to get most tq while improving gas mileage if possible.

For starters I'm selling my Mugen airbox and getting Injen cai. figure more hp / tq and gas mileage from the colder air.

beyond that I'm considering a different intake manifold if that will achieve more tq or even just HP alone if it doesn't take away tq.

from what I've found:

RRC > RBC > PRC > PRB > RBB

HP -------------------------------TQ

PRC/ PRB without Kpro works fine.

RBC can be ran in 02-04 type S , but not advised. in 05-06 cannot w/out Kpro.

RRC can't without Kpro period

I'm looking for the most tq, even if that means losing HP because i daily drive and torque on low end would be more fun to me.

I hear the consequence of RBC without kpro on 02-04 is running lean but that's ok because 02-04 runs rich anyways

what's the consequence of RBB without Kpro?

will I see the torque, or will it be opposite of RBC and make it run richer (maybe too rich?)

I've searched and searched and Searched, and cannot find a example of someone non- Kpro , stock w/ bolt-ons running RBB.

edit: also, might as well throw this in there too... I have a CEL for o2 sensor currently and since I've owned this dc5. I've gotten normal gas mileage and power I believe. I'm assuming the CEL is because race header eliminated Cat converter...

Is it robbing my gas mileage / power ? ? should I slap a new o2 sensor in, will that make the CEL go away? or will it be prematurely burnt out because no CAT ?

Or should I just ignore it?

I just don't know whether it's hurting anything or not. It drives great and gets good mpg I think.
In my past vehicles it hurt performance and gas mileage a lot it seems.

If it's hurting my power and gas mileage I'd just buy the TypeR header / downpipe so I can fix the problem.

leave the manifold alone if you're not going to tune for it

pull the exact code. if it's for the secondary o2 it doesnt affect anything. the secondary is only there to make sure the cat is working.

I think it's my primary, the one closest to the engine, so should I switch the two so the working one is nearest?

so I figured out the o2 question.

I put a new primary o2 sensor in,

and this: http://www.kseriesparts.com/cr/CLU1-CEL-ANG.html in the secondary

anyone with info on the RBB on stock typeS ?

Kinda funny to hear someone say they want more torque in on honda and not worried about loosing HP... Then you bought the wrong car lol

But on a serious note, maybe start saving up and do a K24 swap as it truly should have came in the RSX and will make the car feel like a new car.

Other than that by switching manifold and not tuning with kpro the gains aren't really that significant that I would worry about it. And I wouldn't run the RBB from the K24 on a stock K20 without tuning at all. The crazy additional length in runners and etc are not designed for the k20...

yeah, doing some more research looks like PRC is bought best I can do for manifold without tuning.

I'm pretty happy anyhow.

would be nice to do k24, I may go that route sometime this year or next.

thanks for the replies everyone.
