Default 94 accord pops/backfires from intake

Just put motor in my car and when idle it was popping every few seconds. Went to drive it today for the first time and it was backfiring while driving? Any ideas

Actual engine timing (belt slipped a tooth) or possibly a bent valve.

What was done to the engine prior to putting it in your car? Also was there every any kind of compression test or leak down test results for it?

Yeah mine did that too. Turns out i was two teeth off on the timing (fueled by three monsters and 18hrs straight) so when i fixed that then i was good to go.

Today was really cold and my car wouldn't start it popped a few as if it was firing but just wouldn't I could smell fuel. It did this a few days ago but wasn't nearly as cold I just pumped the gas pedal and it fired but not today?

are you sure you didn't flood the engine if you were pumping the gas. Did you mess with the dizzy at all again?

I haven't touched. The distributor and it could be flooded not sure I didn't pump the gas when I initially went to start just after it wouldn't for few seconds of no firing

Did it eventually start or not ? Can you try to use better sentences so people can keep track of what you're saying.

Might want to check your cap, rotor, wires and plugs. I just replaced all of the above on a friends truck because it wouldn't start when it was cold especially humid. The coil to dizzy write broke right off the top of the cap without even any force and the rotor and cap had corrosion like you would not believe. I was surprised that the truck even ran. So if you haven't replaced those yet i would.

Check the MAP and TPS sensors and see if you accidentally swapped the connectors. Also check the IAT and IACV connectors.

Nothing is swapped. If they were car would run like crap it is fine as soon as it gets running which is leaving me to think its a fuel problem it's not getting the right fuel at first

Just test it. Should be 2500 ohms or so when it's cold and around 180-250 when completely warmed up.

Don't own a multi meter and have a spare sensor on hand changed it and found there was a broken wire on the sensor that plugs into the housing where upper rad hose goes. It started right up but it's not as cold as the other mornings so I'm not sure if it's actually fixed

That sensor doesn't serve any purpose other than to turn the fan on when the key is off and the outside temperature is hot.
