I was hoping for more details lol.
Besides lower emissions what are the benwfits of having an egr valve?
I was reading wiki yesterday and it seems like egr is also necessary for leanburn to keep the exhaust temps down. But they also mention that cam overlap on newer cars is also used for that when both valves are open.
I was thinking a prelude or accord have egr valves and would be closest to b series.

automatic da's came with an egr valve.

i don't see the point, as you should be getting 30+ mpg anyway.

I don't know why you just don't tune it for economy under a certain RPM. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for what seems like a relatively simple solution.

That's pretty much how EGR works. The routines in the ecu for controlling it are not totally straightforward as I remember, and I'm not familiar enough with the lean burn programs to comment on how they implemented it there.

You could always try shooting for some targets like I've attached below to see if they make a dent. It's pretty conservative, but it was enough to get me from ~265/tank to ~315/tank... about a 19% decrease in average consumption! I'm not willing to push it up over the NOx hump to get a true lean burn, and I know for a fact that it could use some work on the timing, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

I had a d15b2 that I leaned out to 19:1 with 50+* of timing for some parts of cruise and I had a best of 489 miles per 10 gallon tank all city driving. No egr either but the plugs were pretty bad afterwards, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a motor that you cared about.

Thats what i meant. The egr is there for real leanburn to lower the temps
