Icon6 Oil In The Raditor? DA9

Hey i just got a DA (B18A1) for free and the previous owner (family) said that the engine maybe leaking oil into the radiator. A known problem with the car is the blown head gasket. The previous owner replaced fuel pump, starter, alternator, spark plugs, etc. He isnt a mechanic, nor am I. But i was thinking since you guys are the guru of Hondas, you guys would be able to help me out. Would you guys have any clue what might be going on with the engine? How much am i looking for total repair cost (self repair)? And should i reconsider putting a new engine in it?

Comment:
Yes its missing a battery (in the picture), so i haven't yet fired this baby up to actually see, smell, or hear whats going on. Keep in mind i just got this (Dec 24). Why I picked this up? Because its a free DA9.. who wouldnt with a virgin body

Known Problems:
Blown Head Gasket

Potential Problems:
Oil Leak in Radiator

Gezzz, is the rest of it just as clean, more pix?

Compression and leak down tests will pinpoint the problem

Most likely your only problem is a blown HG, pull the head, have a machine shop make sure the head is not warped, [fix if it is], maybe worth doing a valve job at the same time.

Once the head is off you can inspect the cylinders and determine if you need to do rings also.

How many miles on the car? 94

@fcm: thanks for the complement. Over the past few weeks i got an Ace mechanic to help me out. We did what you said, at the same time found out that spark plug 3-4 were burning black. It ran too rich and was leaking coolant into the engine. Spent about 150 bucks to figure out that i have to buy a completely new motor. Burnt the 3rd and 4th NGK spark plugs =(. But like you requested, pictures below.

@deebeeate: I was thinking about a B18c5 swap when i get the money. Right now i am in search of a new motor.

why not just rebuild it and buy a vtec head. it's actually relatively simple if you take your time
