Hey guys having some trouble finding the proper torque spec for the axle nut for a '04 accord. I've read 134 and 172.

Can anyone clarify?

 

The spindle nut need to be torqued to 134ft/lb

 

181ft/lbs if it is manual trans axle--- 134 for AT equipped.

I realize this is a very old thread, but I came upon it searching for the torque spec for the hub nut or axle nut on a 2004 Honda accord. There's some confusion because I've been on many sites with different numbers and so I purchased a Hanes manual and thought I should come back and post the correct torque spec in case somebody else is looking for it and ends up in trouble.

The Haynes manual suggests the driveaxle hub nut is torqued to 134 ft lb on an automatic and 181 ft lbs for a manual. This is for a 2003 through 2005 Accord with a 2.4 L engine. The V6 is 181 ft lbs for either and automatic or a manual transmission. Hope this gives someone some confidence.
