Found some similar pix from my old, mildly built GSR motor and made a comparison to my current, fully built turbo GSR setup.

Iphone4 pix FTL
Previous setup was about 190whp.
Current setup is about 400whp.
To stir some conversation in a basically useless, douchebag showoff thread...
Post which setup YOU like below!
Any questions about the setups, I will gladly answer aswell.
Cheers

I like the plain red valve cover over the dull black one. Your turbo setup looks really nice. 400 seems like a very useable number as opposed to 600 which seems overkill for most fwd Hondas.

^^ I did like the red aswell. It is an actual near new ITR valvecover. Which now sits on the shelf in the garage as decoration. I didnt not want to ruin the originality of it to weld on the vent bung's, so I opted for a different cover and new look instead.
Thanks, 400 is quite potent, my EJ1 is still a street car afterall. Anything over that is useless.

I like the turbo setup much better of course, but the valve cover kinda throws it off.
Maybe doing something with the lettering & Spark plug cover of the black one would make a difference. Regardless, they're both very nice and seem very functional.

^^ Now that I think about it, I completely forgot I still have a Spoon kevlar plug cover put away in the garage. Maybe when I get home from xmas vacation out of town I will switch that around. It might break up the black nicely. Thanks for helping me remember that. Heh.

Not really digging the blue in the NA pictures but damn is that clean!
Did you do a mild wire tuck or something?
What mods did you have done to it to reach 190 at the wheels?
I like how the valve cover is a real Type R valve cover and not painted red. I also like how you got a new cover to paint black to keep the Type R that beautiful red lol.
Only thing I can say about the turbo pics is the valve cover looks too dull being all black but a different color spark plug cover will bring it together very nicely.

Spark plug wires are real Spoon used on both setups which are ONLY blue.
Thanks for the pic. I am going to try the Spoon Kevlar cover when I get back home next weekend.
Thanks to everyone else for the kind words and HONEST opinions. I had mixed feelings about it when I first finished the new valvecover last spring, but got alot of people that liked the clean look of it (does look better in person). Although, not worried too much about bling factor, it is not a "show" car by any means. All function!

- The blue Samco (now Spoon) hoses and Spoon spark plug wires are meant to break up the red in the engine bay for a very Spoon tuned look that I have loved for years (minus the yellow valvecover which is also Spoon's trademark).
- The N/A setup does have a mild wire tuck. Nothing crazy, still using the factory GSR engine harness. Just learned over the years where to hide certain things so they are still fully serviceable if any wiring diagnosis/repair is needed and the entire harness is still easily accessible.
- The setup was very simple.
After some calculations I figured out I could utilize B16 PR3 pistons that would bump up static compression close to 11.5:1 (can't remember exactly, it's on the build sheet I make for every engine) along with my P72 GSR head.
B18c GSR block
PR3 B16 pistons
Stock rods
ARP main studs and head studs
New bearings, rings and seals
B18c GSR head
+1mm oversize intake valves
ITR cams
Skunk version 1 intake manifold
Hondata IM gasket
Stock B16 throttle body
3" stainless steel intake w/ K&N filter
NGK Iridium plugs
Vision Technica 4-1 header
Full 2.5" exhaust, no cat
USDM ITR tranny
Fully tuned on Chrome
Basically a hopped up ITR motor in the end. Had awesome results with it during summer 2011. Best setup for road course lapping days. Potent on the street aswell without breaking the bank.

It's the little aesthetics that really bring out the other colors
****, now I gotta keep that in mind, Samco and Spoon. Never knew spoon made rad hoses too -.-.
Have you ever got 1/4 times for it?

^^ Yep, Spoon has made hoses for a long time. They aren't cheap (not worth full price) but I did not pay much for them.
Never had any 1/4 times for either setup. Our track shutdown awhile back and we are left with either traveling 2 1/2hrs to a track or have little goes on the street/highway.

^^ Haha no no no. It is completely removed. I do not daily drive this car. It is strictly a summer/good weather car.
I think it's funny how you came in to educate this guy and were completely wrong. How is something "usually always"? Thanks for the lulz.
I didn't even look at the photos good, **** I can't believe I did that
Well back to Nissan forums I go, lol.
Before.. Spray bombed and ugly as ****

After.. New Formula Red and pretty happy with it. Still have a few plans before she goes to any meet/show but I hope and pray things work out and I am able to attend as many get togethers as I can this year. 2013 FTW!

4thgenaccordfreak, I personally love the boosted look!

Finally got around in the garage to switch the black cover with the Spoon kevlar cover.
This looks alot better, don't you guys think?

Took this pic just before dropping the transmission out for a much needed rebuild.

Looks alot better ever think of shaving down the DOHC VTEC and H back down to the metal? Turbo set up looks amazing but it runs great with that power wish I wouldnt have striped my type r valve cover and saved it also.
