I have a 2007 crv and when I started it on a cold mourning the engine fan came on in 2 minutes. Now the fan keeps going on and off while im driving. Im not sure why this is happening.

 

Check our coolant mixture level you should have a 50/50 mix of Anti-Freeze/Coolant to water. Also make sure that your fluid level is within the appropriate range and you have no leaks in the system. Other than it might need a new temperature sensor maybe but that is what comes to my mind.

 

It's supposed to turn on and off depending on coolant temprature....

 

I dont think the fan should come on before the temp guage even moves. On a 30 degree mourning the fan came on 2 minutes after starting the engine. Now while the engine is running the fan will come on every 5 minutes and run for about 10 seconds and then go off. During the summer when it was 90 degrees outside the fan never came on. My temp guage always reads a little less than half. Im wondering is it the fan control switch or the Engine coolant temperature switch.
