Default Head Light Combo Switch

well for some time now my head light combo switch has been giving me some problems and i keep putting it off and putting it off.....

tonight after i get off work get in my car start it and let it warm up, the head lights ARE on as well as the high beams, then after about 5 minutes they shut off.... my parking lights still work but nether of my low or high beams work, the high beam indicator (blue light) isn't even on....

just wondering if there is something i could do to make the combo switch work again, or if its just time to replace it. mind you the car is a 90 Si with over 250,xxx on the body.

i even thought about seeing if i could wire in my own switches for the lows and i thought about also doing what the OLD cars did and have the high beam switch on the floor beside the clutch LOL!

anyways thanks folks!

Had the same problem a few years ago. I replaced my switch with one from the junkyard. After installation of the replacement switch I inspected my old switch and found it had melted internally. It wasn't something that was repairable.

I wouldn't call $33-$50 an arm and a leg lol. I do have one from a 90 crx sitting on the shelf, pm me if you want it.

thanks for the help folks, i finally got to take a better look at it tonight after work. found one of the terminals burned up a bit, so i took a small piece of sand paper and ruffed up the male end and used a micro screwdriver to do the same on the female side in the harness. worked fine after with no problems it seamed.
