hybrids + snow = ??
Out of curiosity, how many of you drive your hybrids in the snow, because you cant get enough... (or too broke for a second car)?? Does the cold, bad weather cause any harm to the motor?? Can CAI's be used in this type of weather, rain/snow? Any special preparations that should be made, or anything to be careful of? Thanks for any input....
well actually the colder the air , the dense it is, the more O2, the more power u get.... thats the purpose of a CAI...
anwyays a cold weather will not harm the car,... unless u just start it and leave and gun it..... let it warm for a sec... and for rain, just make sure u got a bypass valve if u got a CAI....

Really don't have to do any special prep to the motor for cold, snowy weather, maybe putting the filter back up in the engine compartment.
You'd want to get nice tires on some steelies. I finished my swap jan this year and had to drive around in northern MA with it, nothing like starting from a stop in 4th, cause my tires sucked. This year I plan on getting some Hakkapaelita's (sp?), my sister is a crappy driver and lives in upstate NY, and on these tires she has never gotten in an accident or slid out on the snow and ice, very grippy when tyhe traction isn't the best.
