Will d16y7 head fit directly onto DPFI EF
Can you bolt a d16y7 head into a DPFI EF using all the dual point stuff with no modifications. My daughter's head is toast and I want to do a cheap replacement and I can get cheap d16y7 head. And would the original distributor work?
Thanks in advance.

Not really concerned about MPG would just like to keep it simple. My biggest concern is whether the dual point distributor will work on it.
i think the D15B7 has nearly the same head casting as the D15B2 (dual point) that you have. it was the base engine in the model prior to the Y7. not sure where your deal is coming from, but if it helped i wanted you to be aware.
to confirm, the Y7 head will bolt up and allow use of the dual point manifolds. be sure you use the dual point intake manifold gasket to avoid leaks. you may just have to get creative with the distributor, but it will fit the opening in the head where it "meshes" with the camshaft.
Update: turns out i had a dual point distributor housing out in the garage... it does almost line up with all three "ears" but it would be my bet that in order to get it timed correctly you'll have to turn it to a point were maybe only two or even just one lines up. if you're brave, a dremel and or hack saw could provide the necessary slot length to get all three bolts in.

^D15B6 was from the 88-91 CRX HF. That's two generations before the D16Y7.
Also I don't believe the camshaft from your original head will bolt into the Y7 head. The bigger issue you'll encounter is mixing n matching for a timing belt that fits as well as ensuring that you compensate for mechanical camshaft timing. Good thing is you should have both camgears at your disposal.

the A6 and B2 share the same bolt pattern for the distributor. every thread i search for says that it bolts up just fine. i'd be confident that it does indeed bolt up.
get an adjustable cam gear so that you can properly set ignition timing.
