Default Need help with 02 Civic LX

Hey Guys. My brother purchased a non-running 2002 Civic LX Auto Sedan. The car turns on for a second and turns off immediately. If you hold the gas, it revs up and turns off

The car has Fuel reaching the fuel rail, spark, and air. When you insert and turn the key (without turning on the car), the green immobilizer key blinks twice and turns off. When you turn the key back to off (Again without turning on the car), the immobilizer light blinks 5 times. Is this normal? Can someone do me a big favor and check their 02 Civic to see if it does the same thing. I'm wondering if the key programming is the problem.

The self check function is indicating all is well with the key, whether or not there is an actual immobilizer system problem such as the receiver will require further diagnosis.

It's actually something with the CMP or Timing. A friend of my bro's unplugged the CMP and the car turned on. My bro replaced the CMP and it still won't turn on. I have to check the timing tomorrow.
