JDM EP3R k20 high idle
Hey all,
I've a JDM EP3R k20 that is experiencing some idling issues. Originally it was idle surging which was rectified with an IACV clean and TPS sensor adjustment to .50v - .51v. Which made the car idle steadily at 1k rpm. A couple days later I took the car for a short drive and while I pulled over to have a smoke I noticed that the idle increased as the car was idling. (2k rpm)
Drove home, checked TPS voltages again. 0.50v - 0.52v which seems ok still. Idles around 1.7k rpm at the moment but doesn't fluctuate, so I'm assuming the IACV is fine too. Bled the coolant again, and problem still persists.
I've noticed that the coolant temp gauge on the cluster doesn't reach the middle. Is the middle the optimum temperature? (I'm not too sure as I recently bought this car).
What could be the problem?

Started the car from cold today with the battery disconnected overnight. Once the thermostat opens up to cool the engine, that is when the rev's idle at around 1700-1800. When the thermostat closes up again, the rev's stay at that rate and don't drop back down to 1k rpm...
I've just followed some troubleshooting guides with the service manual which has led me to an open wire between the ECM/PCM connector and the ac clutch relay in the hood fuse box.
To repair this, is it as simple as running another wire from the ECM/PCM connector straight to the ac clutch relay wire behind the fuse box?

You can use a "jumper wire" to confirm. Back probe both connectors with small paper clips. Then wrap each end of an electrical wire to the clips and test. If it doesn't change, there's no need to install.
