Been working on the R and noticed on the trunk floor there are 2 hole one on each side about 5 inches foward of the rear trunk brase bolts. The holes r threaded but seem to serve no purpose cause they don't hold anything together. The whole is smack dab in the middle of square subframe looking under the car. I went to the dealer and nothing shows up in there computer cad. Wondering if anybody knows what goes there and or part #

I think he's talking about the child restraint bolts. Not actually sure what they are called.

 

 

That's for the rear bumper beam

 

If u look threw the whole its threads but no way to acess from bottom so not sure what it would hold together if I put a bolt in it. I guess ill have to wait for a socal meet and look at someones car

 

It thread in from the top that's why paint is missing around the hole it holds the bumper beam in the car. If you lift up the panel right there you will see a plug under that is the other bolt for the bumper beam

 

Anybody have a pic of what it should look like as well as a part #

 

What everyone said. It is for a bolt that holds the bumper beam. If I'm not mistaken it is a size 17mm bolt.

 

Man I was way off on location. Yeah what others said is correct.
