Default 1992 Si - Before and After

Hey Honda-Tech'ers this is sort of my introduction thread so here goes. I wanted to share my Si with you guys, I had intentions of joining this community while I had her in perfect condition, but thanks to a drunk driver I no longer get to enjoy her. The car only had 3,500 miles on her since she was built in 2003 and was in mint condition in every way. I have pretty much every receipt for the car including the original receipt for the Mugen N1 steering wheel.

I purchased the car off of a great friend of mine, almost a family member in many ways. It had sat in his private garage not being driven since early 2007 when I purchased it, only started once every couple weeks to keep the battery fresh and the engine lubricated. I bought the car in July of this year and lost her on October 4th to a drunkard in a 2007 Dodge Ram Mega Cab Diesel. I suffered 2 compressed vertebrae fractures and was in the hospital for over 2 days, I am recovering and the healing process has been slow. However I bought the car back from the insurance company and now she sits in the garage slowly being taken apart.

The heart of the car was a Dan Paramore Racing 85mm sleeved B16a, fully ported DRP head, DPR cams, etc etc. It made 203whp in 2004 with the S200 ECU. I hope you guys like the car as much as I did and I hope to build something of equal quality in the coming year.

(It was raining the week I took the photos, I know she's dirty)

And then this happened

Such a beautiful car...

Did the insurance company give you the option to buy it back?

Nice parts, you must be sponsored by Mugen
Is the car worth repairing? Looked like a clean car to me.

Thanks lol, there was quite a bit of Mugen parts on the car. The chassis is pretty toast, the amount of money it would cost to save it is not worth it.

I already purchased an Integra that will be the new fun car, but I was really considering it.

Yes, the engine and transmission are both salvageable, I lost the port matched Type-R header though, one of the runners off the head got dinged pretty good.

Thank you, as am I, physical therapy starts soon. The new project is darton sleeved, build LS/Vtec with a Full Race ac/ps manifold with a GT3076R. I already have the car but it needs some work before I post pictures of it. I plan on transferring a lot of the parts over.

Thank you, the Mugen seats, wheels, and as much as I can will be transplanted into the new Integra and the rest that I cant take over will be sold hopefully to other Honda enthusiasts who will appreciate the work and dedication that went into this car.

my wife has back problems so i understand fully what your dealing with and i also own the same care and mine is nowhere near, nor will it ever be near as good as yours and it would destroy me if someone smashed it up and i'm truly sorry

i just have to express my RAGE towards idiots that drive trucks!!! everyone HAS to have a giant gas guzzling pile of crap, with an empty bed full of NOTHING, and towing nothing, just raping gas cause it makes them feel "secure" to be "up high" and then on top of it they have to drive their abrahms tank down the road drunk!! so pissed off dude, if i were you i'd sue the ***** of him if i could

There is a lawsuit in order so no worries. The guy was 76 years old, day drunk, and had a few tools in the back. Any car could be clean like mine, it just takes time man. The new Integra will need weeks and weeks of work to get close to the level of that car but it will get there in time. I was devastated and in shock when the accident happened. I wouldn't let them take me in the ambulance until I knew the tow truck driver was going to take it to my friends shop because there was no way in hell it was going to sit in a tow yard while I was in the hospital.
