Default where to start looking for the "R"

hello fellas i follow this forum more than others due to the maturity and no BS members like on the other forums well at least here in honda-tech. finally finished school now i was on a dilemma whether to build my current teggy or just buy an R. I said hell why not just buy one where in socal can i find one? they seem to be hard to find nowadays i remember in high school they used to be around more now they are becoming super rare. thanks! and what flaws to look for them as well.
p s found couple on craiglist but they look molested :/
thanks!

Wouldn't limit yourself to a specific region if you are serious about getting an unmolested one. If you don't really care about the "R" name, RPM has the cleanest 97 body integra you can find today. There was a super nice R in NC for a while you can prob pick up for a little under 20.

Keep your eyes open on craiglist and ebay as well. What budget are you working with?

there's a few I saw on ebay, and autotrader too. For how rare or limited the car is, there's actually a good number of them for sale, just likely not locally to you is all.

I just bought an ITR from SoCal a few days ago. There are a few others around, but like you said, many are molested. Take your time and eventually the right one pops up.

I would highly recommend opening up to the notion of traveling. It's quite common for cars produced in limited numbers.

First ITR: Bought from Missouri - TN
Second ITR: from Virginia -> TN
Third ITR: from Maryland -> SC

Mine is a one-owner '98 running strong and looking great at $8500, but I'm in massachusetts. PM if interested - I haven't created the jan/feb ad on this forum yet, and the itrexpo forums are down at the moment.

Good luck finding a SoCal ITR that is clean for 11k.

check out onecraigs.com which searches all of craiglist. Check out autotrader.com, check out cars.com look at ebay and then obviously here and ITRCA.

Limiting yourself to that small of a region where ITR's are KNOWN to be more expensive isn't going to work in your favor.

I, like Ryan have travelled for 3 of the 4 I've owned. That's part of the excitement with these cars. Tons of sellers are more than willing to pick you up from the airport and likely to let you drive the car back to sellers house to get a feel.

GL With your search.

I just sold my R to a guy is south California. He is paying just under 1000 bucks for it to be shipped. Some times you gotta span out and look around.

But yea itrca is your best bet.

I agree with Dave_B. Clean California ITRs generally go for more $ just like the houses etc here. You're going to actually save money buying out of state and having it shipped here. There's a yellow one on ebay with only 58K and was asking like 10.5K? I'd check that out if it's not bad.
