$#!passwordhatch's EK20 hatch build!#$
Hello everyone, its comming up on about a year since my last build ended with my eg hatch, since then ive gotten back into the game with a 98 civic hatch, i bought the car as a rolling shell, 5 lug swapped and in great condition, i am starting this build thread a few months late in the process so i will be catching everyone up on the progress.
My old eg hatch

My new hatch the day i got her home

First things first!!
Decided to build a dolly for the front and rear of the car so i could move the car in the garage and still have it high enough in the air to work underneath,
used the factory front tow hooks to mount off of.

rear bolts on were lca's go

Once i got the car on its new rolling jig i decided to start takling the engine bay. full shave and tuck, no holes left behind that are not needed, stripped the bay of all its belongings and began preping everything for welding,

Stumbled across some abuse on the driverside frame rail, the car had a h2b swap before i bought it and i believe the motor needed a little extra room, anyway i had to get rid of that blemish, kinda hard to see but it was dented in pretty bad.

No more dent

Time to Weld up ALL them holes!!!!

Last picture before i sealed all the metal up and began mud work,

And let the mud slingin begin!!!

Time for primer!!!

More to come tomorrow, much left to post!!!!!

Stripped and resealed

once the car is painted i will be coating each wheel well and the underside of the car in bedliner,
Quick teaser of the powerplant, k20a w/ a2 head

Finally was able to track down a manual eg rack and pinion, worked great just needed to be cleaned up ALOT,

took everything apart and degressed/ cleaned just waiting to powdercoat now,

moved onto tucking the headlight harness

BRAKE TUCK TIME!!!
relocated the distribution valve under the dash were the airbag module use to be, i cut a square out of the floor and welded two nuts on the backside so i could bolt the valve to the floor,

went with the bolt boys brake tuck fitting kit, Great product, big thumbs up!!

nevermind the rear lines running under the driver seat, those lines are being redesigned

Happy New Year everyone!! 2013
Ive been away from the computer for a bit, couple updates, were pretty much caught up to were im at in this build, bodywork has started on the exterior and i began cleaning the underside of the car in preparation for rust proofing and bedliner coating,

The cars body was a easy 7 out of 10 as far as dents go, no rust in the quarters, very minimal found on the underside on body, which will be taken care of before recoating, i plan to make this cars body straighter than normal as far as body gaps and panel allignment goes.
cleaning of the underside

only before pic i have, right side of pic has not been cleaned yet,

most of the cars rust was found here

left side not cleaned yet

STAY TUNED FOR MORE!!
