I was changing my dashlights with blue led light bulbs, the new bulbs wouldnt slide into the little black things where the old bulbs use to be, and i needed to sand the inside edges down a little bit so they could slide in, but instead of doing that i thought if i used.. Aluminum Foil i could conduct electricity and the bulbs would be sure to light right up, and i was wrong, so what happened(I only tried one light bulb not all of them at same time) was it caused smoke to appear when i turned on the headlights and i turned the headlights off as soon as i saw the, smoke now my dash lights and ac lights will not come on, and my gear selecter dims out extremely or goes off when i turn on the headlights. My question is what do i need to do to make the light bulbs light it again?

( I already checked the fuses for instrument gauge lights and another fuse under the hood i can't remember what it was right this second, but they both good and not blown)

did you look at all your grounds or get a wiring diagram of the dash has there been any new radios or gauges installed have you checked the fuses

let me know what you have done and i ll try and help you fix it

 

I checked fuses and the radio was replaced before i did this and the lights worked, i have honda civic del sol haynes repair manuel with wiring diagrams, im not sure where the grounds are

 

I am having the exact same problem. the guy before me replaced head unit. checked all fuses lights on cluster worked for a few weeks. Now i get nothing, thinking about taking the whole dash out???

Well i decided that im going to buy a neon kit and just hook it up inside the dash and inside the car then hook it up to the headlight switch and have it turn on when i turn my headlights on

 

But how exactly would i hook it up to the headlight switch, do i hook it up to the fuse?
