hey so i have a 97 gsr with no power steering at all it dosne t even have the hard line so i bought this car 2 weeks ago and today out of no where everytime i turn it squeels very load it's embarrasing sounds like the car is really old and about to break down so i found this video on youtube which is making the same noise my car makes but this guy has power steering

 

Bump someone help

 

1. put car on jackstands
2. have buddy turn the steering wheel to replecate sound.
3. crawl under the car and listen to where its coming from
4. Fix steering rack and drink beer

 

mine does this as well, either the struts or the rack is dried and the seals in it sqeak because of no fluid.

you said all the hardlines were removed from the rack, did the PO loop the lines back together or are they capped?

 

Could also be lower ball joints. Mine squeaked like crazy during turns until they were replaced.

Car on the ground, and turning = squeaks
Car in the air and turning - no squeaks since thw eght of the car was off that ball joint.
