i just got some new tires.. cuz mine were bald and my mom was freaking.... and i didnt have the money to my own, so my mom decided to get them since winter is coming up. but i got Sumitomos, there performance tires, i put them on my stock "donuts". but ever since i got them it seems like my car is going slower... why would that be?

 

nothing wrong with Sumi's, one of the underated tires. I run 195/50/15 HTR4's which are a all season tire most of the time. They hardly squeal when cornering. Will be going with HTR-Z next time.

 

in slower do you mean that your tires dont spin anymore or the car is just not pulling as hard?

new tires believe it or not do weigh more than old tires especially when they are bald. i have a b16 crx that runs 13.5 with full interior and slicks and with my new sumitomos i can powershift 2nd and barely spin them, they just chirp a few times. but with my old tires i can spin them as long as i want. sometimes my tires would break loose in 1st gear vtec too but with the new ones i would need a gsr block or something to spin them.

 

like it seems it has too much traction i mean it squeaks engough... and spins, but it seems like i have to much traction. and its slowing me down

 

launch higher if you have too much traction, and if you have to feather it out
