Default New timeslips guaranteed to baffle you

Ok, so I went to the track last night and got some new times, and suffice to say, I am very disappointed. This was at Famoso Raceway and the temp was between 60-70 degrees. Track elevation is about 650 feet. Ok, so last March I went to the same track in about 70-75 degree weather with basically i/h/e/cams/weight reduction and ran a best time of 15.152 @ 88.43 mph with a 2.3 60' time. I have since added a new clutch and lighter flywheel, Falken Azenis, dyno tuned for a better powerband, and took out even more weight. So my first run I launched too high and totally screwed up, so I just gave up. So my second run I launched lower and ran this...

60' = 2.251
1/4 = 15.294
mph = 88.35

So I ran a better 60' but a worse 1/4 mile time Now even though I ran a 2.2 60' I still didn't have traction and never fully hooked up in 1st gear, which caused my 1st to 2nd shift to be earlier than I wanted. So my next run I told myself I was gonna get traction and then let my better powerband and lighter flywheel, hopefully net me a better 1/4 mile time. So here is the info on that run:

60' = 2.319
1/4 = 15.474
mph = 86.71

Now this really confuses me. I hit a good 60', same as my run last year of 15.1 but still ended up with a crappy time. I really don't get it. How could I run slower times with less weight, a better clutch, a lighter flywheel, and a better powerband? Am I losing power? I mean, I dyno'ed this summer at 150 whp and 130 ft/lbs of torque. That was only a few months ago and couple thousand miles ago. All this in a 2,450 lb car should go a lot faster than 15.2-15.4. Any idea what it could be? I mean, I could point to traction and my shot rear suspension, but even on my 2.3 60' run, I only turned a 15.4. I'm simply not accelerating as fast, and I have no idea why.

I only got three runs in during the night, cause right before my 4th and final run, some car spilled liquid all over the track so they sent everyone home.

Any ideas what could be the problem? I'm pretty right now...

What were you looking to hit?

You didn't gain anything at all on your MPH...

Are you dropping out of your powerband between shifts? I've heard some people have this problem after switching over to a lighter flywheel.

this cracks me up. u have 150 WHP in a 2400lb car and u claim u cant get traction w upper 2.2 and lower 2.3 60s. ur problem is u cant drive. my car is upper 1900lbs w/approx 200WHP and i have no issues of gettin traction on or off the street. so quit smokin the crack cause ur car IS "fully hooking" in 1st gear.

to G2:
The mods you have added isnt that much that it would change yout ET drastically. The flywheel doesnt add power and it only helps to complement the "go fast" parts that you put on. tuning on the dyno.... its not liek you did a bottom end or got some crazy headwork.. so that wont change your times that much. the cams will make a diff but what kind did you get? was it tuned properly?
There are othe factors too that come into mind. tire pressure. driving skills, age of the motor. etc.

If you read my post, you'd see I said "I mean, I could point to traction and my shot rear suspension, but even on my 2.3 60' run, I only turned a 15.4. I'm simply not accelerating as fast, and I have no idea why." And trust me, on my 2.2 60' the tires never fully hooked in 1st. And if I can't drive why am I pulling 2.2 60's on street tires and stock suspension. I'm not the greatest driver, but I don't think I'm a shitty driver either.

You can get 1.9 60's but you can't form words together so english speaking people can understand?

I bet the lighter flywheel is slowing you down,they usually dont work well in low HP drag cars and its the only other thing you change besides the clutch.

Captain dickweed is comparing his Drag radials and probably decent suspension, to some dude how has stated he has stuffed rear shocks and street tyres yeah I know DRs are streets but yeah. I was just pointing out its not only driver.

I have about 200whp running on my 16inch mags with toyot1s 205.45.16, koni adjustables blah, blah any my best time is a 15.6 car weighs 2525 including driver I didn't hook up till the end yes end of 3rd. Now if I had of run decent Drag radials there would of been a much better time.

Oooh 2.0's on drag radials I pull 2.0's on full street tires so you can pull to the next window chieftain. 2.2 60' are good street tire numbers.

yeah it does crack me up how people say they cant get traction in 1st 2nd 3rd. **** if you couldnt get traction in a civic honda would put thicker tires on the cars. an intake or a muffler wont cause u to lose traction.

When my car was NA i launched the car at 4700-5000rpm every single run and pulled easy 2.1-2.3 60's on stock tires.

Since the turbo, i can still find traction in 1st gear... if i launch it low enough, and when the boost spikes, on 205/50 kumhos on my GSR rims i cant find traction but i get traction in 2nd gear easy and thats when my car starts pullin. So usually when i hear a ricer in a close-to-stock car sayin he cant get traction in any gear i just laugh at them

like i said, nitto 555 DRs, street tires yes. decent suspension, hmmmm, if u call the first generation weapon R coilovers and stock shocks decent then u dont know what real suspension is.

i wouldnt even post that buddy. 200WHP on a 2525lb car w/driver, u should b embarassed.

yeah i bet, at least the original poster was lookin for answers not makin up poor excuses.

You're putting words into my mouth man. I never said I had traction problems in all my gears. I said on my 2.2 60' run it didn't feel like my tires completely hooked up in 1st.

I don't even know why we're talking about traction. I said that even when I got traction I still didn't run as good of times, so I don't see what the issue is.

its shouldnt matter that you are peeling your tires off the line. as long as your car moves when your tires are spinning you should be fine. what are you launching at when your tires spin and when do they grip?

Also what is your setup (car, motor, mods, and lightening)?

I'm sorry for you G2integrity. I was hitting 15.4 @ 88 mph all the time with my 1992 RS with just intake and removed back seats! Obviously something's wrong. I have some guy up here that goes down the 1320 at about 14.4-14.5 in 92-95 4 door civic with almost the same set up as yours

With 150 whp you should be hitting 14's for sure. You know richie (teg92)? I think he hot something like 158 whp and he does trap at 97-98 mph if i'm not mistaken! Not 88 like my stock 92 RS.

Ok you still don't get the point, why the hell else would I post up that gay *** time, it was to show you that if your car doesn't hook up then you don't get good times, I am not ashamed at all is was a very cold track and I was on proper street tyre with heavy mags there was no traction at all.
You seem to be trying to boost your fragile ego not me buddy
