Why isnt there alot of 02-05 civic builds?
Like the title states is it because there arent lots of tasteful mods? I want to start a build with a 02-05 coupe. Can you guys post pics of your cars? Or some japanese parts?
- Aftermarket support for the 01-05 Civics isn't as plentiful as other generations, for starters.
- It's not a very popular chassis.
- Parts are hard to find, making most builds a case of "same old, same old" unless you have disposable income.
- Many typically prefer things from 2000 and older since they're easier to find *quality* aftermarket parts for.
- Lack of funds. The economy is still rough for many.
- Builders have moved on, have been replaced with the ebay/rota generation who either can't afford to "build" a car or would rather just cut corners and buy the cheapest parts available.
- Many builders simply have no desire to share their builds. I know several people with nice builds who don't bother posting.
- [insert more reasons here]
Japanese parts? Good luck with that. The coupes were never in Japan.
As for pictures, we have a thread full of them. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/official-em2-es1-es2-picture-thread-1-1-a-2989746/

Japanese parts specifically designed for the coupe chassis would be rather difficult... seeing as the EM2 was never offered in Japan.

Start looking for parts and start a list. It will get painfully obvious painfully fast that your options are going to be severely limited.
By what standard?
Brakes: You can use many brake kits offered for the 92-00 Civic chassis, as well as DC5/EP3 components.
Engines: Most K-series platforms are simple swaps for the chassis.
Suspension components: You can use most DC5 and EP3 components without having to change a single thing on the chassis.
Seats: You can utilize slightly modified EP3/DC5 seat rails and bolt anything in.
The only limitation I can really think of... would be from an aesthetic point of view. There aren't as many body kits, lip kits, and wings offered for the car (which in some cases is a good thing).
I think you're confused with a Yugo. The car has great aftermarket support, if you're not a simpleton and just do some research.
