Default cable dohc tranny

is there a way to have a near indestructable cable tranny? i have had my 1.8l for 10 months and already been thru 2? both which had nothing driver related

'92 - '93 YS1 is a stronger transmission than a '90 - '91 transmission, however you need the matching clutch to go with it.

yeah i have a 93 ys1 in now when my 91 ys1 blew up for the second time i out in a 93 ys1 and new disc but i just want to find one that is bullet proof i mean 3 trannies in that amount of time being on my third i would rather be able to get one and sit it on a shelf just in case is it worth doing the hydro conversion to get a newer style or no?

There is no '91 YS1, they came in '92 - '93 Integras only.

The YS1 is basically a hydro tranny other than it uses a cable clutch. The guts will swap into a hydro case and vice versa.

did not know that both my trannys have had that stamped on them. well actually maybe the first one was stamped s1 but the first was a 90-91 tranny and knowing so because when i swapped the next one in i did have to buy the newer style clutch disc because of the spline design
