Just came from VIP auto. Asked about rear hubs for a 2001 accord ex with disc and abs.

They said that the car would require an alignment after installation.

Any truth to this?

 

No cus there is no margin of error. Everything is gonna fit back on exactly the way it came off. In other words the hub can only go on one way in on position.

 

Very true. As long as the hub is all you take off. And you do not mess with the control arms.

 

for some vehicles yes. Toyota Camrys for instance bolt on to a flat surface, so variation in the mating surfaces or foreign material caught durring install could cause a missalingment. For your Accord, the spindle stub is part of the suspension "knuckle" or upright and the hub fits over it. the hub will align naturally to the stub. no need for realignment.
