Have 2000 accord with 175k. Shop changed EGR valve twice and engine light comes on following 10 miles of driving. Heard so tech bulletin 99-085 to clean the EGR ports. Any tips on removing the intake manifold and cleaning ports? Any other routine maintenance I should perform while intake is off?

While I have the intake manifold off do you recommend any routine service? Can I get away with just cleaning the ports and not installing the $147 plastic tube?

 

Clean throttle body and IAC.

This may seem a little basic, but just spray with carb cleaner? Any seals I need to be concerned with?
I am an old plane mechanic and pilot so this newer tech stuff is a challenge to do correctly for the layman.

Need gasket for throttle body. Just spray with throttle body cleaner. I think carb cleaner is more corrosive but not sure.
