I am trying to install my new WESTIN NERF BARS on my 2007 Pilot.... just eyeing everything up and I see some plastic plugs in where 2 of my screws need to go to mount the the nerf bar brackets.

Anyone have any experience with this. do I pull these out? is there a threaded hole there?

Also the 2 rear holes have lots of rust!! should I send a thread chaser down that?

The clips, just press the center with a screwdriver and remove them. There are threaded holes under it.

For the rust, you can use a tap or use a wire brush with penetrating oil.
