Does the 2001 Odyssey have an interference engine so if the timing belt breaks, is the engine shot?

 

Yes. 7 years or 105,000 miles whichever comes first is recommended. I waited 11 years and 80,000 miles. Consider replacing the timing belt, 2 accessory belts, water pump, tensioner, pulleys, thermostat and coolant at the same time. I also changed out the 2 camshaft seals and the crankshaft seal as well since I will be keeping the van long-term.

 

Shoot, my 01 Odyssey is at 217002 miles and still has the original timing belt! I have a spare engine that I want to put in it, but i'm just curious how long this one will last.
