1991 Honda CRX 1.6 16V (Build)
I haunt this baby since 06 and suddenly, finally got it in my hands. I'm very happy since this is my second CRX and I know that I got the last two decent X'es from my country in my possession.
Plans are to keep this baby in a nice, good shape with initial "low boost" project. Factory paint is all around, so no plans for repainting or something..."for now"
Purchase date: 08.Sep.2012
Specifications:
chassis: 1991 EDM Honda CRX (ED9)
engine: 1.6 16V (D16A9)
km.stand: 77890km.
Comments welcome...

Yes, those are the factory 14's, without "H" covers, since they were damaged. I was planing to put this 16 inch AEZ Xylo's

but I changed my mind and got myself a "Gift", a set of silver, 15x8, ET10, STR 503's...

I'm waiting for a set of 165-50/15 Bridgestone Potenza's RE040 tyres and Eastwood fender roller to put this on.

Watanabe R-type > Konig Rewind > Rota RB > and now STR 503?
That's some knocking-off of knock-offs!
Love the design of the wheel though - good choice!

Anyway I bought this set just to check in person the publicity of this current German/JDM mixed style.

Update:
I bought this used EE8 door panels in good condition, together with the power window mechanisms, complete wiring and complete switches. Cleaning, repairing and some new grease will be necessary to make them look more decent and ready for installation.

Tires are here also...
Ouuu, YES, they will be stretched!

Update:
Busy winter...
Since I'm allergic on rust, mud and other nasty stuff, many of the suspension parts has been in "restoration" mood. Sandblasted, primered and painted. Here are some pictures...
Rear trailing arms, as when removed.

Freshly sandblasted with the complete finished, trailing arms.

Rear sway bar, cleaned and sandblasted.

Front control arms, cleaned and sandblasted.

All together waiting to be primered.

Finally in 2K paint and waiting for the Energy Suspension bushings to arrive.

Front shock forks, cleaned and sandblasted.
Note: These are from Civic EK, since I'm planing to use EK shocks.

Rear hub holders cleaned sandblasted.

And completely painted together with other trailing arm.
Fuel tank, as is, when removed.

Fuel tank, washed and cleaned.

Fuel tank, sandblasted on rusty spots.

i love it, its exciting to watch a build come along thats starting out with a nice clean crx, cause i know how fun it would be to be working on a project like this and how exciting it is to keep getting to the next stage and seeing your progress and how its getting closer towards the end result you dreamed of.

I'm glad that there are people who appreciate this work. Most of my friends don't. They said that I spend more time on working, instead of driving my cars. They are maybe right in some terms, but they don't know what is the real passion for the cars and make them more rare samples. I always pick cars and invest time and money that has a "good" starting point. I work on Honda's for more than 17 years and with the time I founded, that this is a better option, instead of restore one from the junk. For the majority it will always be a "Junk car" no matter how good it is, sad, but that is the truth.

Update:
I was interested and I was looking to get some big brake kit and replace those small, rusty, factory rotors and calipers with something bigger. But none really caught my eye and since I'm not a big fan of China/Taiwan goods, I decided to build one custom.
So since I was looking for something bigger, I purchased a set of new ATE, MK2 Golf G60 front rotors. I picked these since they are the closest to OEM provided option here, with 4x100 bolt pattern and 280cm. in diameter. I choose not to go with bigger since my plans are to stay with 15 inch wheels, so 280cm./282cm. is the max. for this setup.
The only modification on the rotors to make them fit on the CRX hub, is the custom center ring.

I was thinking and decided to make them look and work more "Aggressive" I made them custom drilled.
I consumed a lot of time on the marks, almost 2 hours for a piece.

So let's do it.

Drilling with 3mm. drill bit at the beginning.

Drilling with 6mm. drill bit at the end.

Final product.

Update:
The decision has been made very fast.
Brembo's were just to big for this rotors, if they were 300mm. maybe they will fit.

Big gap here.

So goodbye Brembo, welcome NSX.

Fit like a glove.

Since decision has been made, it is time to make some CNC brackets.

Job done.
