Hey I was just making this thread becuase im looking into getting new wheels. I have my eye on a certain set and my plan was to get 17 x 8 in front and 17 x 9 in back. Anyway to get to the point, the 17x9 have a a much bigger lip than the 17x8 and I like that look much more. Id love to have 17x9 all around, but im unsure if i could get away with 9s in the front without rubbing. I currently have 17x8 wrapped in 205/40R17 all around and my car is pretty low (tucking in the back and about half inch from tucking in front) and there is no rubbing what so ever. So have any of you guys ran 17x9 in the front on 97 accord succesfully? Or what other setups have you guys ran?

What is the back spacing on the new rims? If they are 40mm offset the 17x8 will fit fine, but the 17x9 would need to be a 52mm offset in order to fit right

 

the backspacing for the 17x9 is 5.79 and the offset is +20
for the 17x8 the backspacing is 5.48 and +25 offset

 

So the the 8 inch have a 3.5 inch lip and the 9 inch have a 4.75 inch lip? That's not enough back spacing for you clear everything, there will be rubbing all the way around, I run 18x8 with a 40mm offset and they fit perfect with the 3 inch drop I'm running

 

8 inch have 1.75 lip and the 9s have 2.5
