1990 civic dx seat swap
I just picked up a 1990 civic and I'm looking to swap the seats for something nicer. Does anyone know of a direct swap? Maybe from an integra or a newer civic? I also have a new set of procar seats but the mounts from my original seats would require a ton of work to get them to bolt to the procars. Is there a good set of universal mounts I can get or should I stick with modding my original seat mounts? Thanks
Theres nothing really direct fit into EF. Everything is gonna be off by 1 bolt unless you stick with 90-91 Civic seats. IN MY CASE! I got 90 Prelude Si seats and can show you exactly what I mean
I didnt care and drilled through my floor board, got some under-carriage bolts, washers, and nuts. Went underneath welded the bolt and underbody coated the entire area.

Also, I dont mind answering but IM SURPRISED YOU DIDNT GET 100 PEOPLE SAYING, "use search" thats why your post has been ignored so long.

Thanks for the info. I'm still pretty new to the forum thing. This is the first one I've ever joined. I'll try using search in the future. Thanks again.
Not a direct swap but easy to modify. I agree with VTec-Kart. Honda Prelude seats are great seats and fit fairly close. I did make a mounting plate for them. Easy to do. I paid $60 for both and I now have seats that are way more comfortable.
I have in my 90 dx hatchy, 95 integra Ls front and back. the front bolts up 3 out of four with a lil modifications
. The back top half fits perfect. Bottom half i rigged
. I was halfway through a seat pan swap wen i realized it was unecessary. Lol!

I'm having the same issue. I have an 89 with falling apart front seats and no idea what to do.
I have access to a skilled mechanic who I trust who would fab/weld for me but I don't know where to start with this.
Is it dangerous to buy "universal" fit seats like JDM style?
It seems like just about any seat from that era out of any Honda/Acura is hard to find/hideously expensive, so I don't mind some aggressive looking JDM seats if it can save me some dough and be more comfortable than sitting on steel beams.
Thanks!

Refoaming wont help. If their seats are anything like my original seats, they need stitching probably.
Like it has already been said. Its really not that big of a deal. 3 holes line up, so your basically looking at 1 bolt off with most seat swaps.
I paid 20$ for blue 91 Prelude Si seats. Just look on craigslist and make it work lol

I've done on trying 2 sets of seats in my 90 hatch. First one was 2001 Honda prelude , and now on the car is 91 CRX si. Both of them are not 100% fit but it seems custom is very easy for me by stop at the ACE hardware to buy some metal farme with holes on it so you can have brackets to adjust the mounting .
It took me about 2 hrs to get the seats in without any problems.
Good luck !

The integrity of the seat mounting is compromised by doing the methods described in this thread. I don't advise welding the seats down. Bought a car that had Del Sol seats welded in... 2 of 4 welds were broken and I ruined the rails taking them out anyways. Lol.
I got a set of Pro car seats and mounts and bolted them in. I didn't want to mess around with drilling holes and welding the seats in. Thanks to everyone who replied
