After parking on the street for 2 Years in Brooklyn my 95 GSR was stolen Sunday night or Monday morning. It used to look like this:

The police recovered an empty shell of the car on Wednesday (My Birthday no less!). I went to look at it Thursday and they got the following from me:
GSR engine
Comptech Header
AEM intake
B&M Fuel pressure reg
Type R tranny with ATS 4.9 FD
ACT Clutch
Stage 1 Axles
Neuspeed strut tower brace
Comptech Tie bar/anti-roll bar combo
Koni Yellows
Eibach pro kit
Phillips HID kit
SSR Type C wheels with Kumho 712 tires
gauge cluster including oil pressure and A/F ratio
Razo Shift Light
most of the interior
a bunch of tools that were in the trunk

The only things they didn't take were the Skunk2 Camber kit and my Del Sol seats (i have no idea why)

Insurance says they will not cover any mods even if I have reciepts so basically I was just raped. The best part is the way the found it, they caught two guys dumping the stripped car and they arrested them both, but the police said because they didnt catch them within 4 hours of when it was stolen they cant be charged with stealing it. They said the worst that will happen to them is probably going to be the illegal dumping charge (up to $20,000 fine). Both of the suspects happen to live on the same block that I work on one night a week (on the other side of Brooklyn) so they must have followed me home one night after work to see where I park. I had The Club and The Autolock on my clutch, they didnt seem to have any problem getting by either of them. The steering wheel was cut, but I have no idea how they got the Autolock off.

I'm asking all New York City people to keep an eye out for my Wheels as they were pretty unique, they are 16 x 6.5 SSR Type C's (Competitions) in 4x100 but they were powdercoated flat black (they don't come in flat black). I have never seen another set like them. The Guys who stole them live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Anyone have any suggestion for what I should do now? I'm assuming this car will be totalled by the insurance company. I was originally going to keep it for another year and then get an S2000 or the 2004 Lotus Elise, but I wouldn't want to park either of those on the street here, especially after this.

Alexander Diaz of South 2nd or South 3rd Street but they didn't give me a copy of anything with his address.

Freakin insurance companies..That's a f$*ked up law about not catching the thieves in 4 hours... I don't get that one. Good luck though..

 

I would talk to a lawyer. Somebody will end up paying. I would sue the guys who were found dumping the car.

I got the autolock and the damn noobs couldn't get it off so they stole my radio and fucked the **** out of my center console. I'll keep a look out on your rims. I'm in queens NY. I feel your pain, hope you get some positive resolution soon. Using the club without the "Shield" is almost useless and even then there might be ways of getting around that too. GOOD LUCK.

yea seriously dont let the insurance company play you like that. my insurance company tried doing the same thing with my car. tried to bend me over and stick it in my ***. just a figure of speech. i wasnt having it though. just keep denying their offers until your happy they ll eventually go up. i came out a thousand dollars on top after bitching and moaning for like three months but hey it worked.
