91 ef hatch build/resto/dd fun
well i bought a ef over 6-7 months ago, and it was my first honda. all my friends have integras, civics, etc and always talked about how good they were and all so i figured id get one. i picked this beauty up for 1000 dollars with some minor mechanical issues and what i thought was gonna be a easy fix ended up being more money and it eventually turned into an obsession with it looking and being as nice as it could be. as far as plans go i just want it nice, functional with all the kinks worked out. it has the d15b1 (slow as fuuuuck), and ive been leaning towards a z6 or another stronger d series or a b18 swap($$$). this is just the intro post, and ill have pictures of everything thats been going on with it so far shortly.
i need a new taillight, and everything is faded.
when i started tearing it down to check all the damage
the front after everything is taken off.
i shoudlve taken a before picture, but i didnt.
just a cheap short throw shifter
mugen seats ill never use
yes. halos.
why halos? every ef i have ever seen has regular headlights. i dont like it.
once i got the fucked up front end fixed, installed a new bitch pin, clutch cable, throwout bearing, clutch, tie rod ends, battery and belts and some other odds and ends it was time to put it all back together.
and now time to throw it together and start driving it so i dont have to carpool with my fiancé anymore.

new fender, and the headlights are obviously in

i plan on getting some different corner lights, they dont look right with the halos.

new tailight thank god

this is where she stands today. its the wrong filler panel, which will be fixed this week, and i def need a new hood.

i have some adjustable lowering springs, and i also am planning on ordering an ebay exhaust because what i have is rotted off just about. ppics will go up as i get them, and i got some interior stuff coming too. today i took out the back paneling and im getting ready to prep and repaint the entire interior because the jackass before me just painted everything....literally. i also need some plugs for my center console, its the 92 and up integra style and i think it looks nice.
this is the back carpet that came off the seats after alot of purple power and elbow grease and a pressure washer. it came out real nice i think.
i think this came out real nice. i was going to get rubberized undercoating and go over this, but it came out real nice so i might try to make it work. you can see the plastic and how its black. im thinking of either going back black or just going back to the stock blue....i got crx seats(black and grey) and a black aftermarket carpet, so idk. any ideas?
It looks like a great start!! I personally don't like the clear plastic on the headlights I think it makes em look cheap.. But the halos look good.. I think they'd look better if you took the plastic lenses off and put the stock glass ones over the halos
This looks like my build, minus the headlights.
well after thinking about it and alot of googling im gonna take the mudflaps off, and i thought ahead took a before picture. i got some good paint from work and im gonna paint the top of the car and the little spoiler/wing a nice coat of black, because its lookin pretty rough up there.

the most decent picture i could get of it showing the flaps.
if it looks like i think it will without them, expect to see the flaps up for sell haha.

this is what the top looks like. pretty rough, but well see how it turns out

Well the flaps are still at the moment, and the weather has prevented me from painting the top and wing, and removing the flaps. Still waiting on goodies in the mail, and mr and the junkyard Are gonna have a go around this weekend.
Remove the flaps unless you plan on cleaning under them constantly as to not ruin your paint. Sand and small rocks can get between the mudflap and paint and rub constantly. Not so fun to deal with. that's why I removed mine and never looked back.
I took them off to repaint the bumpers and inner fenders, but didn't think to see what they looked like off. I do remember alot of damage to the paint however.

whats wrong with my flaps?!? i love em. forgive the paintshop red lines. ive got everything to do the side mouldings and jdm rear bumper so i just wanted to see how it looked. im gonna retrofit some eg sideskirts and heat and shape the front flaps to fit. and i have the jdm rear flaps that match the rear lip
well it was like xmas at my house yesterday when santa dropped off some parts.

my filler panel is in this box, but when i took it out it was defective in one spot, so rockauto said keep it, were sending you another one free. i love those guys.
and i like the shift ****.
still having issues with the battery dying, i got another thread running hopefully trying to get some help, tomorrow ill have my exhaust ordered, and as soon as it gets in im gonna throw the lowering springs, exhaust, and the short throw in. anyone have some ideas for the interior? restore back to blue? or clean and repaint black?

They'll eventually ruin your paint if you drive your Civic on anything but perfect roads and perfect weather.
There's nothing wrong with eBay as long as you're buying quality parts. If you understand suspension, you'll understand why eBay generic coilovers are crap. Progress Coilovers are good, so are Function Form for the price. I'm getting Function because I want to be able to slam my car for shows lol.
Half decent exhaust off eBay that the DA integra guys run: Tenrai Exhaust. Add a glasspack if it is too raspy for you.
Brand name does not mean that a part is quality necessarily.
