Default timing will not stay

Ok. Stock 90 crx dx auto. Getting code 8, dizzy sounds noisy so I change it. Dizzy wasnt the rattling sound, but its still sounds like it is. Still getting code 8 and limp mode. Even after pinning the little connector by ecu, timing will not stay. Any ideas whats goin on? Oh yeah I pulled the plug wires to open valve cover and #2 is full of oil. Looks like just valve cover gasjet caused that, but that still doesnt explain the rattling sound. Could tgat cause the code btw? Thanks for any advice.

think of it like this. your spark plug wire is shorting out on the head because the oil allows the current to travel.
