will a 01 4wd Trans work in a 98 CRV? does anyone know?

if its manual yes auto no because no overdrive int the earlier models

well reading the service manual electronically its the same. the 97-98 has a position for it while 99-00 has a button. they both use the same wiring to the pcm but im not sure about the gear selector in the transmission yet for hydraulic purposes.

just looked at part numbers for valve bodies. for 97-98 and 99-01. Valve bodies are different. so damn i do not think they are interchangable.

so how would you know that it will work? is it base on personal experience or just hear say? im planning to buy a rebuilt one or go used with low miles thats why im inquiring if 99-01 tranny will work on a 98. its just 97-98 has an extra position on the gear selector which may interfere with the 99-01 valve body. i would like some legitimate facts rather than going on someones opinion. right now by me skimming through the service manual valve bodies are slightly different due to the manual valve selector.
