Unless you want cheap-*** and failure-prone zip-over-the-axle-boots, better to just get a new or remanufactured axle. This still may not be the cause of your problem. You can jack up the car and look at each of the 4 boots. Are they leaking grease? If they are there will be a grease mess all over the place.

PS or you can rebuild and repack them yourself. Fun fun. I think if you were willing to do that however, you wouldn't even need to inquire about price.

I think with a core turn in or some thing like that they should cost you about $75 a side with a life time warranty

yah last pair i got from autozone was 69.00 i think or something silly.

i have a bad one right now.. the boots are intact but its popping.. i guess someone at the remanu shop didnt put enough grease in. heh whatever.. for 69.00 and two hours of my time i'm willing to deal with it every 1.5-2 year or so.

Both sides from auto zone - $125 each x2 = 250 (50 core charge each), install = $120

subtotal = 370 - 100(core) = $270 to have someone install them

I know this is an old post but I need to bring it back up. I would suggest highly not investing in remanfactured axles. I went through 6 of them in about a month and a half because they are schotty work. They grind the old metal off of the joints and find bearings out of a big bin to fit it.
I paid an extra 50 bucks for RAXLES and haven't had the problem again. Of course i am a little hard on my axles.

sure. this one right myeah.

92-96 H22a/H23a1 intermediate shaft

Prelude/accord passenger side axle

Prelude Driver side

prelude uses a female axle and a male intemediate shaft. Supposedly a stronger setup for hard launches on nitrous. I've had good luck with it.
