Good morning, everyone ... well, last night I notice this weird noise coming from my driverside engine.... I search for hours in here and some people posted videos so Im posting one too for help... my vehicle is a 2001 civic lx. Just replaced the tranny like a few months ago.. I just come from a drive and I notice that the noise is only when the car is idling. while driving, it goes away so I think the engine is good... could it be the water pump? some pulles?.. any suggestions would help.. i hope you can heard the noise on the video.

sounds like a rattle to me. check for loose objects about the engine bay. I suppose it is occuring at idle because during idle you get more vibrations that at higher rpm.

 

Basically what he said. See if anything came loose around that general area

 

Have you checked the alternator and A/C compressor?

Motor mount is good? Nothing is missing or loose?
